Who is a Good Candidate for Fillers?

Women and men of all ages benefit from injectable fillers. A person whose skin retains some elasticity and is generally healthy typically sees the best results. Fillers are an excellent choice if you want to reduce wrinkles and folds and give your face a smoother appearance. Additional signs of aging, such as loss of volume over the cheeks or temples, can also be corrected with particular fillers. The best results are usually achieved by assessing and treating the whole face. People with significant excess skin, however, may need a faceliftbrow lift, or eyelid lift to achieve the desired results.

What to Expect

Procedure Fillers
Description One of the exciting features of injectable fillers is seeing the results almost immediately. After Dr. Yee carefully assesses your skin and facial anatomy, she will suggest the appropriate filler plan. There are no one-size-fits-all fillers, which is why selecting a board-certified plastic surgeon with Dr. Yee’s experience is so vital.

Most of the fillers used by Dr. Yee are made of a hyaluronic acid gel, which adds volume to the area where it’s injected. The exception is RADIESSE, a calcium hydroxyl-based filler used to treat deeper lines and the loss of volume. Results are immediate with this filler as well, and they can last up to a year. The fillers used at Baker Plastic Surgery include:

  • JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC
  • RADIESSE®
  • Restylane® Silk
  • Restylane® Eyelight
  • Restylane® L
  • Restylane® Lyft
  • Restylane® Refyne
  • Restylane® Defyne
  • Restylane® Contour
  • Restylane® Kysse
  • RHA® Redensity
  • RHA®2
  • RHA®3
  • RHA®4
  • Sculptra®
Recovery Fillers provide immediate results with less downtime than surgery. Slight swelling and bruising is common, but usually fades within a couple of days. It is important to remember that fillers don’t usually provide permanent changes and repeat treatments are necessary to maintain the desired results. Depending on the filler used, the effects will last between a several months to more than a year. Many fillers stimulate our own collagen and have long-term results. Dr. Yee has devised customized regimens for patients to use after injection treatments to limit down time to a minimum.
