Lip Augmentation

Full, natural-looking lips can enhance the allure of even the most attractive face. Injectable fillers can help you achieve that desirable look, but only under the guidance of a physician with the experience to balance the science and art of lip augmentation. Miami board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jackie Yee is a leader in the use of fillers for lip augmentation and other facial rejuvenation techniques.

The mouth’s anatomy differs significantly from person to person. Unfortunately, many injectors use identical techniques for every patient, often resulting in unattractive lips that don’t look natural. Dr. Yee takes pride in customizing each patient’s treatment. Additionally, she chooses among the variety of fillers available to achieve the best results – lush, full, natural-looking lips.

If you are considering a lip enhancement in Miami, request a consultation, or call us at (305) 670-9995 to schedule an appointment.

Who is a Good Candidate for Lip Augmentation?

Thin lips are an aesthetic concern for many women and men. Some people have naturally thin lips, while others lose volume as they age. Either way, if you want plumper lips, we can successfully augment them with soft-tissue fillers or by using fat taken from another part of your body. Patients interested in getting enhanced lips often choose to undergo a face lift or other facial injections to complete the facial rejuvenation.

Fat Transfer Lip Augmentation

If you opt for a fat transfer, fat cells harvested from another part of your body will be injected to the lip area after being prepared. Unless you combine lip augmentation with liposuction, a minimal amount of fat is extracted. This type of procedure results in more swelling and downtime than injections.

What to Expect

Procedure Lip Augmentation
Description Although there are multiple options available for lip augmentation, we offer hyaluronic acid-based fillers (such as JUVÉDERM ULTRA®, JUVÉDERM ULTRA PLUS®, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC, BELOTERO BALANCE®, RADIESSE®, Restylane® and Perlane®) or fat transfers. Hyaluronic acid is a safe, clear gel composed of a naturally occurring carbohydrate that exists in human tissues and skin, so there is minimal risk of allergic reaction. During your consultation, Dr. Yee will offer her expertise to help decide the most appropriate option for your lip augmentation, based in part on your skin type and lip anatomy.
Recovery Lips can swell if the proper post-injection care isn’t followed. Dr. Yee has perfected her post-injection regimen to prevent the lips from bruising or swelling significantly. Thanks to her customized regimen, any discomfort experienced by patients is minimal during and after the injections.
